The Westfjords Climbing Club has the aim and purpose of promoting the progress of climbing sports in the Westfjords. It runs a climbing gym and works on building up outdoors climbing areas.
The club runs a non-profit indoor climbing gym in Ísafjörður that is open to the public. It´s located at Mjallargata 4, in Ísafjörður.
The opening hours of the indoor climbing gym are as follows:
Mondays from 17 to 19:30
Wednesdays from 20 to 22
Thursdays from 16:30 to 18 (Family session, the youngest kids)
Sundays from 16 to 18 (Family session, all ages)
It´s popular to host kids birthday parties in the climbing gym´s facilities. It costs 30.000 ISK to have the facilities for two hours. Included is a person from the club that takes care of the climbing, also cleaning of the place afterwards. For more information, please contact info@klifra.is. You find photos of the facilities at the bottom of this page.
The club, in co-operation with the sports school (Íþróttaskólinn), is running climbing classes for kids in 3rd and 4th grade of Ísafjörður primary school.
